Omega-3 and dry eye The omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA have the most potent health benefits and are the most important for controlling inflammation related to dry eyes. Specifically, a high EPA to DHA ratio may be more beneficial for dry eyes. Fish oil contains the omega-3 EPA and DHA. Some research suggests that increasing the intake of these omega-3s may help alleviate dry eyes.
However, there is currently not enough evidence to support this.
